A loss this morning against a strong Ashby Ivanhoe Dragons team. The result didn’t reflect our performance because the lads battled hard and gave it their all in only our second game at 9 a side. We definitely deserved some more goals with the chances we created. Lots of positives to take from this friendly match and also lots to learn. Fitness is key as these pitches are massive and we need to make sure we keep the same energy as the first half for the whole game but that will come. The first half in particular was strong. Well done to all the lads this morning.
Massive well done to Lucas for scoring our only goal of the game but also our first goal playing 9 a side. A lovely finish from a counter attack started and assisted by Jude, whose pace on that wing today caused some problems.
A big thanks to Steve and well done to his team at The Dragons for yet another good game.
Lucas was also presented the ‘Player of the Match’ award which was fully deserved.
Focus now turns to training on Wednesday ahead of our season opener next Saturday.
