The Perfect Day For It!

The most perfect morning for a game of football and the sun was shining for Poppy as we held a minute of silence in her honour ??

We played a friendly match this morning against Ashby Ivanhoe Dragons at The NFU and what a game it was! The lads showed passion, battled hard throughout the game and we could have even nicked the winner, but a draw in the end was the right result as both Ivanhoe teams played really well and there was some fantastic football on show. The lads had fun, they enjoyed it and that makes us very happy ?? it was also nice to be finally playing a game at our home ground!

Joseph- what a goalkeeper this lad is becoming. The saves today were phenomenal and fully deserved (joint) player of the match! Along with..

Ben- who was absolutely solid at the back, got stuck in, made crucial tackles and got the ball up the pitch quickly to create chances for us.

Freddie- this kid is becoming such a fantastic little defender and today he was there for every last minute block/tackle.

Lucas- the most energetic kid you will see on the pitch, gets about the pitch like a leopard ?? runs the middle of the pitch like a prime Steven Gerrard.

Zach- captain today, got stuck in and had a couple of opportunities to grab a goal. Played really well and is improving week by week. The nice weather helped him today ??

George- once again showed his dribbling skills once he grew into the game and linked up well with his team mates, dictating the wing.

Jax- 50/50 if he would play today as he was poorly and you could see he was but it didn’t stop him one bit. He was well up for it! Made crucial tackles, got stuck in and gave it his all. Fair play ??

And finally.. Louis- this lad never gives up despite his own personal battles. Never stopped running and created opportunity after opportunity for us and grabbed a goal once again! ??

Also a special mention to Dexter who turned up to support his team mates despite being injured ??

We are and always will be proud of you boys and we only ever make decisions that we think will benefit you most and today showed that. We are proud and you boys should be proud of yourselves!
