In a commanding display of football, Ashby Ivanhoe Dragons triumphed over their local rivals, Ashby Ivanhoe Knights, with a resounding scoreline of 7-1 in a friendly match held at the NFU Sports Ground on 30 August 2025. The match kicked off at 9:00 am, showcasing the Dragons' attacking prowess and tactical superiority throughout the encounter.
The Dragons lined up in a 3-2-3 formation, with Jenson stationed in goal, providing a solid last line of defence. The back three consisted of Harry in central defence, flanked by Alexander W on the right and Dillion on the left, tasked with both defensive duties and supporting the attack. In midfield, Teddy and Xander operated centrally, looking to control the game and link up play, while Olly, Rohan, and Jamie formed an attacking trio, with Olly on the right, Rohan as the central striker, and Jamie on the left, all expected to exploit the spaces left by the Knights' defence. In the 55th minute, Alexander W got on the scoresheet himself, converting a goal with an assist from Xander, marking a fantastic individual performance. The final goal of the match came in the 61st minute when Teddy scored his second, assisted by Rohan, capping off a remarkable display from the Dragons.
