Ardley United U12s traveled the short journey down the road to play Bicester Town Colts. The two teams have met on a number of occasions and every game is a very close affair.
After a minutes silence honouring Prince Phillip Ardley started brightly with Sam Deane slotting past the keep to make it 1-0 within the first 10 minutes. Bicester were level within 5 minutes after a mix up at the back allowed their striker to slot home from close range. Ardley took the lead again just before half time when Josh Wrights corner was half cleared by Bicester defence only for Rocco Nightingale to smash it home from edge of the area.
The second half Bicester came out firing and would have been level on a number of occasions but for a couple of very good saves by Josh Cresswell to keep Ardley in the game. Ardley weathered the storm and managed to bag a third on 45 minutes when Oscar Williams broke free and calmly slotted past the advancing Bicester town goalkeeper after some good build up play. Again Bicester lifted their game again and forced a nervy finish with minutes to go when they got a goal back. Ardley secured the victory with the last kick of the game when a Josh Wright curled in the winner direct from the corner in added time.
Credit to both sides as there was some fantastic football being played by both sides.
