Match Report - Littlehampton UNITED RESERVES - 20 Oct 2018

Ambassadors ground out a win against an under manned Littlehampton Utd reserve team. After a sluggish opening 10 minutes, Ambassadors took the lead from the spot after Touclet was chopped down in the box and Noller calmly slotted home. Soon after Ambassadors were flying as Alex Chivers-Gibbs scored two headers in quick succession both assisted by bother Ben one from from open play and one from a corner. At this point Ambassadors relaxed and stopped doing the simple things that had been so effective as they started to over play. Littlehampton then came right back into the game as they got two goals on the counter attack in the next ten minutes. There were chances either end in the period into half time but no further goals to report.

The second half started as the first had for Ambassadors as they dominated play again and it wasn't long before Alex Chivers-Gibbs got his hat trick as he shot low into the net after being played in by a neat pass by Oppe. Soon after Oppe got one of his own after neat work by Touclet down the right resulted in a cross which he tucked away and got the goal his performance deserved.

Half way through the half and with the game won Ambassadors made three changes as Turner, Mayne and Grey departed to be replaced by Sharpe, Hopper and Wells. About 10 minutes later Ambassadors got a sixth as Wells played in Ben Chivers-Gibbs who beat the keeper from 12 yards out and then not long after Alex Chivers-Gibbs got his forth and Ambassadors seventh as he finished another assist from Ben Chivers-Gibbs. All in all not a fantastic performance from the Ambassadors but they got the win and move on to a difficult away cup game to Holbrook Reserves next week, being five games unbeaten.
