Match Report - HOLBROOK RESERVES - 27 Oct 2018

Ambassadors took the long journey up to Horsham to take on Holbrook Reserves in the 2nd round of the Division 3 cup. Only one change in the starting line up as Bushell came in for the unavailable Mayne at left back.

Ambassadors dominated the opening exchanges in what was frustrating period where they played some of their best football of the season but didn't get the rewards they deserved as numerous efforts went off target or blocked by the Holbrook defence Touclet was causing havoc down the right and he had a couple of opportunities which he couldn't convert and then further opportunities came from Opee, Both Chivers-Gibbs brothers, Burrell and Grey which all failed to open the scoring.

Holbrook made a couple of changes at half time, and came back into the game with more possession during the opening 15 minutes of the half. But Ambassadors wrestled back control and Touclet had a decent effort saved by the keeper as Ambassadors pushed for a winner.

On 70 minutes Ambassadors made two changes as Sharpe and Mason came on for Turner and Grey.

Touclet had a big shout for a penalty turned down when it looked like he was taken out by the Holbrook left back but referee didn't award it and as Ambassadors huffed and puffed looking for a winner.

Then with extra time looming, Blazey sent Ben Chivers-Gibbs down the right and he sprinted into the area whipping the ball across the face of goal which was deflected past the keeper to give Ambassadors a deserved lead with 2 minutes to go. Holbrook then pushed forward get an equaliser but the defence stayed solid and Ambassadors saw in through to the final whistle without any major issues.

Win extends the unbeaten run to 6 games takes Ambassadors through to the quarter finals where they eagerly await to see who they will face.
