vs Chapel First
Away league match
A Pulsating fixture which went one way then the other ended in 5-5 draw on a rainy afternoon in Northchapel.
Ambassadors started much the stronger and with in the opening 10 minutes they were rewarded when a pass from Noller found Ben Chivers-Gibbs on the edge of the box and his goalbound shot hit the defender and defected into the far corner to put them 1 up. Ambassadors soon extended there lead as Ben Chivers Gibbs put Touclet away down the right and he beat two men and then the keeper to curl the ball into the far corner. It was all Ambassadors for the next 10 minutes and they had chances to extend their lead but failed to take then. Then Chapel were back in the game as they scored with a long ball over the top which the striker lobbed over Treagus as he came out. Chapel came back into the game and after a couple of goal mouth scrambles they failed to level the game and Ambassadors got back onto the front foot as Noller won a free kick on the edge of the box which Ben Chivers Gibbs bent superbly into the top corner to give Ambassadors a two goal lead going into half time.
Half Time: Chapel 1 Ambassadors 3
Second half was more of the same as the goals kept coming, Firstly Chapel broke down the right and a cross was met by an unmarked player at the far post to score to make it 3-2. Oppe then had a golden chance at the other end from the edge of the box that hit the bar, Then shortly after Amabassadors grabbed back the 2 goal advantage as good work from Touclet down the right was followed by a cross that fell to Ben Chivers Gibbs who grabbed his Hattrick with another excellent finish into the far corner. After this Chapel took control with 3 goals in 20 twenty minutes, Firstly a long range free kick could only be parried by Treagus and the Chapel forward tapped the ball home, then another free kick from the left was nodded home by the Chapel attack and finally to give Chapel the lead a cross from the right was mis-judged by Treagus and a Chapel player slotted home at the far post.
Then as the game came into the final 10 minutes Blazey’s excellent free kick was met by substitute Quigley at the far post who powered home to make in 5-5. Both teams had half chances after this but neither team could find a winner and a draw in the end was a fair result.
Man of the Match: Ben Chivers Gibbs – Excellent all round performance.
