Ambassadors got a first point of the season with a battling performance against inform Boxgrove. Forced into a few changes due to unavailability Ambassadors meant that Jones came in for his debut and manager Merrett took his place on the bench as the only sub, a big contrast to 16 man squad named for the first 3 games!
The first half was a tight affair with both teams look solid defensively and few chances either end, Witton could have possibly had a penalty when barged over in the area and Boxgrove were looking dangerous with the long ball over the top, midway through Boxgrove took the lead when Noller gave away a free kick 25 yards out, and the Boxgrove midfielder bend the ball home with Treagus getting a hand to it but not enough to put it over the bar. Ben Chivers Gibbs offered danger down Ambassadors right on a few occasions but they were able to get players onto the end of the crosses. Boxgrove had a couple of chances before half time but both times Treagus saved smartly.
Ambassadors were in the game much more in the second as Oppe offered more support to Witton going forward and Jones and Chivers-Gibbs breaking down the wings caused problems. Boxgrove had two chances to wrap up the game as striker had one on one which Treagus saved excellently and then with ten minutes to go they were awarded as Witton handled from a cross, but the penalty was blasted high over the bar to give Ambassadors a reprieve. They make the most of this as got an equaliser when excellent midfield play led to Ben Chivers Gibbs putting Noller through on goal and he buried it in the far corner to grab Ambassadors a point.
