Match Report - BEAUMONT PARK FIRST - 19 Jan 2019

Ambassadors looked to bounce back from the previous weeks drubbing against Beaumont Park on a muddy sticky pitch at Southfields. Ambassadors had much the better of the opening twenty minutes with Theobald, Touclet and Oppe all testing the keeper from range. With the pitch not helping Ambassadors passing game wasnt as effective as usual and Beaumont came back into the game towards half time and headed over from 5 yards out when should have scored and nearly capitalised on a moment of hesitation between Treagus and Burrell. But it was all square at the break and defensive play was on top.

Second half was much more even affair with again defences on top as pitch conditions worsened. Both teams had chances to grab a win Noller was unlucky with a lob over the keeper that was headed off the line and Treagus in the Ambassadors goal was tested with a couple of long range efforts which he turned round the post. Then in possibly the move of the game the Ambassadors defence fed Noller who spread the ball wide to Jones who put in an excellent cross which Alex Chivers-Gibbs was a whisker away from converting at the front post. Then in the last 10 minutes Beaumont Park had a succession of corners and went close when Noller cleared off the line but the game ended up all square and final result 0-0.
