Ambassadors ended their 2 game losing streak with a comprehensive first ever win against AFC Littlehampton. For one of the few times this season Ambassadors were at it from the start with their pace causing Littlehampton all kinds of problems throughout the half. They got the early lead they deserved as Jones in centre midfield won the ball and played a delightful ball to Touclet who controlled the ball on the right edge of area and struck a sweet half volley into the far left top corner. Touclet and Ben Chivers-Gibbs had further efforts on goal which were saved then disaster nearly stuck as Blazey superbly cleared off the line from a corner. This was the warning Ambassadors needed and they where on the front foot for the rest of the half and they soon had a 2 goal lead as Oppe played in Alex Chivers-Gibbs to neatly finish. Shortly after it was 3 as Oppe was bought down in the box after a fantastic sweeping move and Noller buried the resulting penalty. Then 3 was 4 as Noller won the ball in midfield and played in Oppe who beat the keeper who was stranded 35 yards out to walk the ball into the empty net.
Half Time: AFC Littlehampton 0 Ambassadors 4.
The second half AFC Littlehampton came out fighting and with a much more attacking formation put Ambassadors on the back foot from the word go. Burrell in central defence dealing with a barrage of high balls with ease, led to Ambassadors looking solid until the hour mark when a corner resulted in a goal mouth scramble which Littlehampton got back a goal. Littlehampton cranked up the pressure further trying to get back into the game but Blazey, Turner, Burrell and Hooper along with the excellent Wells sweeping behind absorbed the pressure to keep the 3 goal lead intact. As Littlehampton ran out of ideas Ben Chivers Gibbs, Touclet and Oppe all wasted chances to further extend the lead.
It was Littlehampton that scored with 2 minutes to go as the striker was given too much space twenty yards out and buried the ball into the top corner. But it was too little to late and Ambassadors got a deserved win and meet Littlehampton Utd next week hoping to carry on the positive performance.
Man of the Match: Chris Jones, outstanding performance in a unfamiliar position.
