Home league match
Another disappointing result for Ambassadors as they fell to a second successive defeat.
AFC Littlehampton were much the better team for the opening twenty minutes as they gained control of the game, and wasted a golden chance as Turner fouled the attacker bursting through in the box and a penalty was awarded. Treagus pulled of a fantastic save to tip the penalty onto the bar, Littlehampton still pressured but it was Oppe on the break who had the next chance as he rounded the keeper but from the wide angle could only find the outside of the post.
Then Littlehampton took the lead as the again the Littlehampton winger who had been causing problems all game burst through again and finished with a fantastic shot in off the far post. Ambassadors questioned if he handled as he controlled the ball but referee waved away the protests and awarded the goal. Littlehampton had the better of the chances up to half time but only went in 1 up.
Second half brought a more attacking intent as Grey was pushed further forward to support the isolated Oppe and this helped in getting more possession of the ball and looking more dangerous going forward, Oppe went close when clean through and keeper saved neatly. Then Ambassadors got the equaliser as Ben Chivers-Gibbs played Oppe through again and his shot beat the keeper at the near post. This spurred on both teams and there were chances both end before a long goal kick was missed by the defense and the Littlehampton striker lobbed the stranded Treagus in the empty net. Ambassadors tried to get back into the game with a more attacking formation but to no avail and Littlehampton dropped more men back to counter this and see out the game and grab a win.
