What A Cracking Result For AFC Sutton Phoenix

What a game and what a cracking result well done to everyone involved today you all put a shift in today. The game itself was end to end and again we made a slow start with conceding the 1st goal in the first few minutes of the game but we then got back into it with a first goal for the club for Gareth who’s left footed scooped shot found the net. We then took the lead with with Richard colley lofted the ball high in the sky to lob the goalkeeper to nestle into the net for his 11th goal in 7 games. We conceded after that to make it 2 v 2 second half the game was swinging end to end they then took the lead but WE ARE PHOENIX we arise from the ashes to grab an equaliser late in the game with Luke chancellor continuing his goal scoring form, we should of won the game shortly after that with Luke putting the ball in the net but referee had blew for a handball in the box by one of our own players game resulted at 3 vs 3 and it went into extra time.

Extra time started and Phoenix went out there with the momentum behind them pressing from the start mid way through the 1st half of extra time Phoenix went 4 v 3 up with Callum briknall scoring with a bullet header his second header in succession of games. We went into second half of extra time battling hard to hold out for the victory but with the last kick of the game they equalised to take it to penalties.

So we won the toss so we went 1st

Richard colley steppes up to take the 1st one and scored they then scored

Andy (captain) then stepped up to score the second penalty they equalised

Callum briknall then scored to make it 3 v2 then they equalised

Roshane daley then stepped up to make it 4 then they equalised

Josh murrel stepped up to make it 5 then they equalised

So it went to sudden death with Luke chancellor stepping up to make it 6 v 5 then they equalised

Gareth then stepped up to take what was the last penalty to score to make it 7v6

There player stepped up and hit it straight at Kieran gow who won the game with his save

We progress to the second round of the senior cup.
