First game of the season for the boys in green and it’s away to Croydon champions Selsdon town fc away in the London cup. Putney have had a hard and tough pre season campaign with the management demanding nothing but perfection from the boys.
Was a lovely day to start the season.
The first whistle blows and both teams have started okay testing each other out, after 15 minutes Putney started to take control of the game and had there first big chance saved after winger Jason T went through one on one and made a good save. Putney had 5 great chances to open the scoring but could not find the back of the net. Against the run of play Selsdon went through and made it 1-0 with a great finish from there skipper-striker.
Half time blew and management just demanded more of the same and to be more clinical, subs were made and ready to start the second half.
Putney start the second half strong with number 8 midfielder rush starting to dictate the play with wingers Michael and Jason giving there full backs no chance of rest. Finally the goals came and the break through was made with Michael grabbing the equaliser with a tidy right foot finish.once the first one was scored they just started to flow through with goal scores Michael scoring again,Jason t,Brandon and striker Shak adding to the goals.
Great performance from the lads and hope to carry on through the season
