AFC Prospect Farm Rangers vs J&L Utd.
23/10/16.

Rangers Top And Bicknell Grabs A Handfull.

AFC Prospect Farm Rangers took the initiative this week knowing a good win could take them top of division 5 against a team that they beat handsomely the previous week.
Straight from the start it was Rangers who set their stall out and with just 40 seconds on the clock took the lead through Tiago Ferreira which was quickly followed by a second from Blake Bicknell on 4 minutes.
J&L dropped deep into defence and played a straight back line which was causing frustration to the Rangers front runners who were finding it difficult the beat the off side trap.
In the 28th minute Blake Bicknell did manage to break the trap to score his second which was followed up just 2 minutes later with the Rangers forth scored by Tiago Ferreira, his second also.
On 36 minutes a rare J&L attack resulted in a consolation goal for the half as after 45 minutes Rangers looked in complete control.
Second half under way and Rangers were in no mood to sit back and take a break and the Rangers followers on the touch line witnessed some very quick flowing football which resulted in a flurry of goals.
Blake Bicknell scored a second half hat trick scoring in the 46th, 48th and 60th minute bringing his total on the day to 5, with a comfortable 6 goal cushion Rangers made three quick substitutions with John Wake, Sally Doran and Tiago Ferreira making way for Kyle Needham, Miguel Alegre and David Bartlett.
It was the fresh legs of Lee Callaghan in the 66th minute that added to the Rangers total followed quickly 3 minutes later when Tom Cross netted to make the score line 9-1.
Time and time again the Rangers bombarded the J&L goal and it was only some heroics from the J&L keeper that was keeping the score line down to single figures.
It wasn’t until the 79th minute that Rangers again found the net when club captain Andy Bellinger fired home for a well-deserved goal. In the 81st minute Ryan Tout scored on a pitch that he is beginning to enjoy as this was his third in two games into the same net as before. 11-1 but with credit to J&L they never gave up and did manage a second in the 87th minute.
So with the final outcome a resounding 11-2 victory the Rangers were looking at other results to see if they had done enough, sure enough after 5 league fixtures, still unbeaten in the league Rangers are now sitting in top spot.
