Local pride was at stake in this very tasty local derby.
The match started at a ferocious pace with tackles flying in from both sets of players in front of the massive crowd that had turned up to watch.
Pinxton drew first blood with a spin and shot that went in the top corner to give Tom no chance, however this just spurred Normo on and within 10 minutes Brandon equalised with a solo goal straight down the middle.
By this time it was all Normo and it was only a matter of time before we took the lead, a corner from JJ and Brandon rose like a salmon to nod the visitors in front!
2-1 at the break and it was nothing more than we deserved.
The second half started in much the same way as the first and Pinxton came at us, this time though they couldn't find a way past our wall of a defence and Tom's cat like acrobatics to tip a shot that was destined for the top corner round the post!
That again gave us a lift and before you knew it we were 3-1 up, JJ's run down the wing and cross for Brandon to tap in for his perfect hat-trick which sent the traveling fans into ecstasy!
Changes were made as the game was won, but some sloppy defending let Pinxton pull a goal back to make it a nervy last couple of minutes.....
The final whistle blew and Normanton were victorious, it was a great performance and a big three points.
For the moment Normanton have the local bragging rights and there were big smiles as the supporters went home happy!!
