Home league match

Dartmouth began their Southern League Division South campaign with a 3-1 home win over AFC Totton. Dartmouth came flying out the blocks, Harry Foster went through on goal in the opening minute only to be denied. The darts carried this on and had the away side pinned back for the opening 20 minutes however against the run of play, Totton made it 0-1 on the 28th minute with a quick counter attack reminding Dartmouth how ruthless this level could be. After a very convincing first half display Chadwick left the same team out for the second hoping that more of the same would lead to positive results, it certainly did as 10 minutes after the restart Charlie Kent found the back of the net from a Takuro Ikenobe pass across the box after a lovely move. From here it was all Dartmouth, Harry Foster had the beating of his full back and Ben Caulker’s overlaps made it too much for Totton down the left, in the 82nd minute a full second half of dominance paid off as Harry Fosters clip into the box was met by Luke Gardner’s right boot to give Dartmouth a precious lead. Dartmouth didn’t stop there as 4 minutes later Charlie Kent’s beautiful diagonal ball to Palek Jawornzo was finished brilliantly by the polish forward to wrap up all 3 points. An excellent start to the season for the darts and they will look to continue that on their long trip over to Hanwell next weekend.
