vs OLD GUARD
Home cup match

Ac Milano were knocked out of the Division One Vaughan Cup after a single goal by Old Guard in the second half.Ac Milano have themselfs to blame as they missed great opportunities at goal, the home side just couldnt put the ball in the back of the net.

Ac Milano's Arif Patel had the best chance in the first half as he missed an empty goal after sidefooting his shot over the crossbar from very close range, all he had to do was just tap the ball in.Mohamed Saeed should of scored too but a great one hand save by Old Guard goalkeeper tipped the ball over the bar.Ac Milano played really well in the first half & with the wind against them they done well.

In the second half Ac Milano were sort of on the back foot as they couldnt carry on where they left the first half from but as the time went they got on track & started playing well. But it was Old Guard who broke the deadlock after a great finish from the away team striker, his left foot shot flying past Ehsan Afzal...

After that goal Ac Milano came alive and they attacked well & created chances but just couldnt score.Daniel Cameron & Imran Patel (Barry) should of scored but just couldnt get that final ball into the back of the Old Guard net.Ac Milano's Naeem Khamis who had a very good game hit the post and the ball came of the post which fell to Barry but he miscontrolled the ball & the chance went begging.

It wasnt meant to be as the final whistle went & Ac Milano eliminated from the competition. To be honest Ac Milano have never had luck in cup competions in 11-a-side football. The season promised so much and with such a good squad Ac Milano should of been up that table and done well at least in one of the cups. They still have nine league games left to play, thats twenty seven points to play for and if Ac Milano fix up,show team spirit and play as a team then they can surely win games to climb up that table.Ac Milano also need to finish their chances off up front if they are to win games cause they are creating them but not taking them.Still alot of games to play, mostly against the top teams and if they are to get good results against those top teams then perhaps Ac Milano are good enough to win something but not this season and hopefully next season.Ac Milano have chance to finish in a respected position in Division One so thats what they can achieve this season...

Ac Milano are away to Valley Park this week...
