The Jets lined up in a 5-3-2 formation, designed to provide a solid defensive base while allowing for quick transitions into attack. James Stanton took his place in goal, shielded by a back five consisting of Lloyd Hill and Harry Hayes as the right and left defenders, respectively, with Reece Colainne, Ollie Symes, and Caiden Wilkinson forming the central defensive trio. In midfield, Owen Gibson and Santiago Redondo operated on the right and left flanks, while Toby Jack played centrally. Up front, Lucas Goulding and Lewis Moorcroft were tasked with leading the line as forwards. The substitutes for the match included Harrison Capper, Aidan Greenway, and Jack Hayes.
The first half saw both teams probing for openings, but it was the visitors who struck first. Just before the half-time whistle, Park Royal Macclesfield scored two quick goals in the 39th minute, leaving the Jets trailing 0-2 as they headed into the break. The Jets made two substitutions at this point, bringing on Harrison Capper for Lewis Moorcroft and Aidan Greenway for Toby Jack, hoping to inject some fresh energy into their performance.
As the second half commenced, the Jets came out with renewed determination. Just a minute into the half, Lewis Moorcroft, who had returned to the pitch, found the net with a well-placed shot, assisted by Lucas Goulding, narrowing the deficit to 1-2. However, the joy was short-lived as Park Royal responded emphatically, scoring two more goals in quick succession in the 58th minute, extending their lead to 1-4.
In a bid to change the momentum, the Jets made further substitutions, introducing Jack Hayes for Ollie Symes in the 47th minute, and later bringing Toby Jack back on for Reece Colainne in the 64th minute. Despite their efforts, the Jets struggled to contain the visitors, who scored again in the 67th minute, pushing the score to 1-5.
The Jets did not give up, and in the 79th minute, they were awarded a penalty. Lewis Moorcroft stepped up to take the spot-kick and successfully converted, bringing the score to 2-5. Despite the late goal, it was too little too late for the Jets, who were unable to mount a comeback.
